Comparative assessments are made using the SAP:2000 versus the new SAP:2005, which is the required energy modelling method stipulated in building regulations Part L 1A 2006.

Conclusions are then drawn to determine where improvements in energy performance should be targeted to gain the biggest saving, with SAP rating certificates issued prior to completion on new builds.

SAP assessments can also be conducted on existing dwellings to determine the TER, which can be used to make improvements and aid selling the property.
